In a humble neighbourhood in Brisbane’s north, the team at Marchant United FC Inc. have been putting their best foot forward to make a difference in their local community. The soccer club established in Taigum back in 2016, have come a long way since their first year of operation and have been delivering strong scoreboard results as they have played their way through the Northside Soccer League competition over the past 5 years.
One of the club’s motives for ‘kick-starting’ a football club within their community was to provide an outlet that focussed on maintaining positive mental and physical wellbeing for men over the age of 45. As a community based club, the Marchant United club relies on player registrations, sponsorships and donations for their upkeep expenses and to continue their operations on the northside.
