Community Grants 2023 Recipients Announced

Kedron-Wavell is proud to announce the recipients of its 2023 Community Grants Program. In a heartfelt ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries, community leaders, and representatives from various local organizations, a total of $175,000 was awarded to 53 deserving recipients.

Kedron-Wavell, is a leading Queensland community club with an extensive and proud history of community involvement and is thrilled to be able to deliver this program for another year, with even more funding available than previously.

The Kedron-Wavell Community Grants Program is a testament to the Club’s commitment to supporting local organisations that make a positive impact on our community. This year, 58 outstanding initiatives were chosen to receive grants, ranging from $500 to $10,000, to help them achieve their goals and create meaningful change within our local community.

Among the recipients were organisations dedicated to aiding the homeless, supporting veterans, fostering education and youth development, promoting health and well-being, and enhancing our cultural and artistic landscape. The grant funds will be used for various purposes, including equipment purchases, educational programs, community events, and more.

Some notable grant recipients include:

  1. Band of Brothers QLD Incorporated – $500
    Supporting individuals in crisis, preventing homelessness by providing “Hope Bags” filled with essentials.

  2. Queensland Stoma Association Ltd – $1,000
    Enhancing warehouse facilities to expedite the delivery of medical appliances to those in need.

  3. Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia – $4,100
    Purchasing vital medical equipment for their Brisbane Base to continue providing lifesaving healthcare.

  4. The Carers Foundation Australia – $10,000
    Will allow up to 20 family-carers to be supported physically, emotionally, and mentally with lifesaving-resilience programs.

Community Grants 2023 Now accepting applications

Kedron-Wavell’s 2023 Community Grants Program is now accepting applications from organisations in the North Brisbane community, with $175,000 in grants available.  

Kedron-Wavell, is a leading Queensland community club with an extensive and proud history of community involvement and is thrilled to be able to deliver this program for another year, with even more funding available than previously.     

The Kedron-Wavell Community Grants program aims to provide crucial financial support to local initiatives and organisations that are making a positive contribution to the North Brisbane area.

The program has been thoughtfully designed to assist non-for-profit organisations, community groups, and individuals who are dedicated to creating meaningful change within our local community. With a focus on grassroots initiatives, this program empowers recipients to transform innovative ideas into reality.  

“Our Community Grants Program represents our unwavering commitment to supporting and strengthening our local community,” said Vjorn Bradow, General Manager of Kedron-Wavell. “We firmly believe that empowering changemakers at the grassroots level is important to creating positive change, and through this program we aim to provide the financial resources to support to those wanting to make a difference.”  

Applications for the Kedron-Wavell 2023 Community Grants program are now open and will be accepted until 31 July 2023. This year all applications can be conveniently submitted online, by visiting https://grants.kedron-wavell.com.au/. Those interested are highly encouraged to visit the website to learn more about the application process including eligibility criteria, assessment process and other conditions.  

All applications are comprehensively reviewed by Kedron-Wavell’s Board, to ensure that grants are awarded to projects that align closely with Kedron-Wavell’s mission and demonstrate the potential for meaningful community impact. Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application by Thursday 31 August 2023, with successful applicants to attend a presentation at Kedron-Wavell on Tuesday 19 September 2023.
